Zentara is an architectural lighting studio that designs suspended installations for spaces that demand more than illumination. What began as a single commission for a cultural institution evolved into a full brand identity — fluid, luminous and built around the idea that light should move the way water does.

Designing a Brand Identity for a Studio That Treats Light as a Sculptural Material
Zentara was built on a conviction shared by very few lighting designers: that a suspended installation should occupy a room the way a great piece of sculpture does — with presence, intention and the capacity to change the feeling of everything around it. The brand identity was developed to match that ambition. The visual language needed to communicate craft at the scale of architecture and poetry at the scale of a business card, holding both registers without losing either.
Zentara was built on a conviction shared by very few lighting designers: that a suspended installation should occupy a room the way a great piece of sculpture does — with presence, intention and the capacity to change the feeling of everything around it. The brand identity was developed to match that ambition. The visual language needed to communicate craft at the scale of architecture and poetry at the scale of a business card, holding both registers without losing either.
The brand mark — three horizontal wave forms contained within a perfect circle — abstracts the movement of the studio's signature installations. The waves reference flowing fabric, water surface and light diffusion simultaneously, creating a symbol that is immediately associated with the physical experience of standing beneath a Zentara piece. White on dark, always. The identity was designed to perform in the environments where the work lives — dimly lit galleries, high-ceilinged lobbies, atmospheric hospitality spaces — where contrast is the only thing that holds.
